The season has begun for Indian Ring necks. We have vetted and approved a process we feel comfortable bringing in this popular bird species.

Here’s what you need to know:
First our Ring Necks are like no other you are going to find around the country. It’s no secret for the past two years we have not brought Indian Ring Necks into our facility. We have been loud and proud about this ban because we knew it was the right thing to do. Here’s what you need to know about the Ring Neck parakeets we’ve decided to raise. First their parents have been tested and found negative for PBFD. Prior to being shipped to us, the babies have been tested negative for PBFD. Third prior to going into our general population or ever meeting a consumer (potential pet owner), we will be testing the birds to confirm they are negative for PBFD. That’s a triple-check process that costs a great deal of money and time to do. Why do we do it? Because we only want to produce quality birds for our public. As these birds were highly susceptible to the deadly disease PBFD, we have made it clear that we will not be doing business hand raising and selling these birds unless they can stand the test of our quality control.
Once arriving in the building, the birds are being quarantined to a separate intake nursery, which has a separate ventilation system. These birds will be immediately tested and only moved to the general public when they have come back with the final clear bill of health. Seems excessive, right? You bet it is, and that is the ONLY way we will be doing this. Don’t be confused - no Ring neck in our local market is going to go through a more rigorous or even close to as rigorous an inspection verification process. We take this potential disease very seriously, and we know that these birds are highly coveted.

If you want an Indian Ring neck in your life, this is your chance to have one that you can feel confident about. These are amazing, well-loved birds, and we are very excited to be bringing them in under these conditions mentioned above. We are very proud to be the most ethical source you will find out there to find an Indian Ring Neck Parakeet. We proudly maintain a high standard of care for our birds, and we will always go above and beyond if we feel the need is right to confirm quality. We truly have what appears to be an unlimited selection of birds here, but let’s be fair; there are certain birds we don’t bring in. That’s because some birds just don’t make sense to expose the public to. For the past few years, we have had these guys on that list. Now, we feel confident we can bring them back in the most ethical way.
